Tech Task #1: My Digital Footprint

In this tech assignment, we were appointed the task of looking at our own digital footprint. What this means is to look at what pops up when you google ourselves, what is our online identity? Key thing here is to not have any surprises of things associated with your name on the world wide web. This is especially important for us looking for jobs this year because employers will look up your digital identity to make sure you are professional in and out of the classroom. As a teacher, you are held to a higher standard in society just as police officers, firefighters, and political leaders are. Holding yourself to a higher standard means to accept the fact that you cannot be influenced by people with no or little direction in their lives. This means to be more mature and professional in the way you act around people, talk to people, and present yourself. So before you make that post with little clothing on, or a beer in your hand - be sure to think of what it might do to your online image.

You google my name and you will be soon berated with articles associated with me and golf. The last couple of years I have began playing a lot of big competitive golf events across Canada. So if anyone is to google me, they will soon find out that I am a golfer. One thing that is interesting about my digital footprint is my social media - I only have Twitter. I don't use Facebook, TikTok, Instagram or any other social media platform. So as for my digital footprint on social media, it is very small.

Thank you for your time and always be sure to think critically before you make a post on social media. Don't just do it for the likes, or the attention; think about the possible repercussions.
