My "Intro to Blogging" blog.......
This is my first blog, and some people in class may not know much about me, so I guess I should take this opportunity to say a little about myself. My name is Drew Jones. I am in my last year (hopefully) in the Education after Degree program at Brandon University. I am a 25 year old dude whos life revolves around sports, fitness, friends, the discovery of new music, and the odd beer here and there.
I have put a considerable amount of time in my life into the crafts of many sports such as basketball, volleyball, golf, tennis, football, and hockey. Lately, I have devoted most of my sport specific time into golf and volleyball as I still play them competitively. Golf has given me some cool opportunities as of late, just this past summer I was able to travel to Calgary and Halifax for golf tournaments. I'm excited for whats to come this summer on the golf course, and the snow can't melt away fast enough!
I work part time as an official in high school basketball for the Brandon and surrounding westman area while I am in school (Anywhere from Russell to Killarney in Western Manitoba). This is my first year that I have been hired as a "CanadaWest" basketball official which gives me the opportunity to officiate at the University level. I have the opportunity now to travel around western Canada to officiate games, and gain a significant bump in pay grade while doing it.
Now that you know a little bit more about me, I am looking forward to learning more about everyone else in this class!

Now a little bit more of what to expect from my blogs:
Mike wants us to complete a blog each week for the "Internet For Education" class. This blog is mostly going to be a reflection on the weekly speakers or topics we discuss in class. I think the main idea behind us blogging each week is to provide deeper insight, thought, and provoke us to look at others perspectives and take home points from the weeks topics.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to working together as a community within the class to better ourselves as educators

Nice first entry, Mr. Jones! I think it's awesome how involved you are in sports and am sure that your students are going to benefit so much from you sharing your passions. I am excited to hear/read your thoughts about all the topics that will be covered in class.
